Talk to us

Memory care here is a house with six people in it, not a wing with a keypad.

Memory care is specialised support for people living with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or other conditions that affect memory, reasoning, safety and daily routine.

In our homes that means familiar caregivers, a calm routine, safe spaces and a care plan built around one person’s life story. Care is directed by Executive Director Ricardo Garcia and overseen medically by Dr. Jeremy V. Gomer, MD.

Why a small home works better for memory loss

People living with memory conditions feel safest in calm, familiar, low-stimulation places. That is the whole design of a six-resident home.

A real home, not a wingResidents live in a neighbourhood house with a living room, a kitchen and a familiar daily rhythm, not a corridor inside a facility.
The same caregiversFamiliar faces reduce fear and confusion. Caregivers learn each resident’s preferences, triggers, routines and personality.
A calm, predictable daySteady wake times, meals, rest, activities and bedtime routines, which lowers anxiety and disorientation.
Safety built into the houseSupervision around the clock, fall prevention, monitored exits and routines designed for people who wander.
Meals cooked herePrepared fresh each day and adapted to dietary needs, preferences, hydration and swallowing concerns.
Families kept in the loopRegular updates and honest guidance through each stage, with visits welcome at any time.

Questions families ask about memory care

What is the difference between memory care and assisted living?

Assisted living supports daily activities such as bathing, dressing, meals and medication reminders. Memory care adds structure, safety supervision, cognitive support, wandering prevention and caregiver training for Alzheimer’s disease, dementia and related conditions.

How do you keep residents safe from wandering?

The small-home model makes supervision personal and consistent. Caregivers are on-site 24/7, exits are monitored, routines are structured, and each resident gets close attention through the day and night.

What stages of Alzheimer’s or dementia do you accept?

We support residents in early, middle and later stages. A personal assessment decides whether our home is the right fit, based on care needs, behaviours, safety and medical support.

What is included in the monthly price?

Room and board, meals and snacks, medication management, personal care, laundry, housekeeping, activities, supervision and coordination with medical providers. The rate is all-inclusive, with no level-of-care add-ons.

Can families visit and stay involved?

Yes. Families are care partners here. We welcome visits, updates and care conversations so you stay connected and informed.

Who oversees care medically?

Dr. Jeremy V. Gomer, MD, our Medical Director, provides clinical oversight across the homes, and care is directed day to day by Executive Director Ricardo Garcia, a licensed RCFE administrator.
