Angel's Haven Care was co-founded by Ricardo Garcia and Johnny Mazariegos on a simple but powerful belief: seniors deserve to live in a real home - not a facility. Together, they spent years observing the gap between what families hoped for and what the traditional senior care system actually delivered.
Both Ricardo and Johnny are California Licensed RCFE Administrators - a rigorous certification that required 80 hours of training and ongoing continuing education. Ricardo witnessed firsthand what happens when senior care is scaled for volume rather than for people - residents become room numbers, caregivers rotate every few hours, and families wait days for a callback. Johnny brought that same administrative expertise to the family experience: turning a confusing, guilt-ridden process into something clear, compassionate, and trustworthy.
Together, they built Angel's Haven Care around one uncompromising principle: keep it small. No more than 6 residents per home, so that every person who walks through the door is known by name, by story, and by what brings them joy each morning.
Today, Angel's Haven Care operates 5 licensed residential care homes across Southern California - all held to the same standard: the one Ricardo and Johnny would set for their own families.

Ricardo Garcia
Ricardo co-founded Angel's Haven Care after years of witnessing the gap between what seniors deserve and what most facilities provide. As a Licensed RCFE Administrator with an 80-hour certification, he oversees all five locations and holds every home to the standards he would want for his own family.
His mission is straightforward: change the narrative around senior care by proving that a small, personal home model delivers better outcomes, happier residents, and greater peace of mind for families.

The large assisted living model was designed for efficiency - not for people. When you house 100 or 200 seniors under one roof, you inevitably optimize for systems, not for individuals. We made a deliberate choice to build differently.
Small Homes Produce Better Care
With only 6 residents per home, our caregivers can truly know each person. They learn their routines, their preferences, their sense of humor. That's not possible when one caregiver covers 14 residents across a 40,000 sq ft facility.
Staff Consistency Matters Deeply
Large facilities rotate staff constantly. At Angel's Haven Care, the same 2–3 caregivers work each home, building real relationships. For residents with dementia, this consistency isn't just comfortable - it's medically significant.

There is no lobby. There is no nursing station. There is a kitchen, a living room, a backyard, and bedrooms - because those are the spaces humans live in. Residents are calmer, happier, and feel more like themselves when they live in a real home.

Fully Licensed, Insured, and Accountable
All five Angel's Haven Care locations are licensed by the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) as Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE). We are fully insured, background-checked, and held to the state's highest standards.

We chose our locations deliberately - placing each home in established, family neighborhoods across the Inland Empire and the Coachella Valley, close to hospitals, specialists, and the communities our residents have spent their lives in.

Angel's Haven Care isn't a company that parachuted into Southern California to operate senior homes. Co-founders Ricardo Garcia and Johnny Mazariegos - along with our entire team - live, work, and raise families in these communities. We know these cities. We know their hospitals, their specialists, their neighborhoods - and we know how much it matters for a senior to stay close to home.
We are active participants in the communities we serve - building relationships with local physicians, discharge planners, social workers, and hospice agencies so that our residents have a complete support network around them.
